Phil Bowermaster and Dick Stafford both linked to this page which shows a difference engine made out of Legos.
Also linked to from the Lego difference engine page is this difference engine built with Meccano.
I guess now we only need a Tinkertoy difference engine to complete the trifecta; it would probably look similar to the one pictured below, which plays tic-tac-toe.
